No Raises for Elected Officials:

Tarrant County voters deserve election systems that are trustworthy and verifiable. While the Commissioners Court does not run elections directly, it controls funding, oversight, and transparency requirements. As County Commissioner, Lucila will:

Require quarterly public reports on duplicate, inactive, deceased, and out-of-county registrations.
Ensure resources are directed toward timely investigation of potential errors in voter rolls.
Advocate for auditable election processes, including hand-marked, hand-counted paper ballots.
Support public hearings and verification processes that reinforce accuracy, reliability, and public trust.

Fiscal responsibility means eliminating waste and ensuring government runs efficiently. Lucila will:

Identify and reduce redundant processes that inflate costs without improving service.
Streamline operations to improve efficiency.
Prioritize essential functions while preventing bureaucratic expansion.
Support lower property tax rates wherever financially responsible.

County government must ensure safe communities and reliable emergency services. Lucila will:

Maintain and strengthen law enforcement, EMS, and emergency response readiness.
Ensure the Sheriff’s Office, Fire Marshal, and EMS receive necessary resources.
Promote constitutional policing and transparent operations.
Expand community preparedness and emergency management planning.

Open and accessible government is essential to serving the people. Lucila will:

Restore at least three open meetings per month so public business is conducted in full view.
Reform public comment rules to respect free speech and citizen participation.
Reinstate three-minute speaking times for public commenters.
Reverse policies that restrict public visibility or silence resident concerns.

Tarrant County residents deserve safe, reliable roads and protection from flooding without increasing taxes. Chronic traffic, deteriorating county roads, and flash flooding waste time, threaten safety, and cost taxpayers through reactive spending. As Commissioner, Lucila will:

Maintain and improve county roads and bridges in Precinct 2, prioritizing pothole repairs, resurfacing, and high-use corridors like McCart Avenue and I-20 to reduce congestion and protect vehicles.
Strengthen drainage and flood protection in vulnerable areas such as Crowley and eastern Fort Worth, funding targeted upgrades through transparent, competitive bidding to prevent property damage.
Hold developers accountable for the infrastructure impact of growth in Arlington, Kennedale, and Mansfield, ensuring expansion is responsible, transparent, and does not overburden families with higher taxes.

Public service is a duty, not a career path to enrichment. I will oppose any salary increases for commissioners and other elected officials, keeping focus on serving the people rather than serving ourselves.
